4 COMPONENTS TO A BUSINESS STRATEGY

A strategy is a plan to get from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible.

For a brand this could be a broad spectrum from brand to ideal customer or brand to even another brand. It affects all aspects of a business. A brand is more than just a logo, website, and name. That’s where the strategy comes in.

So join us as we go over 4 components for a brand strategy.

1. Purpose

It’s one thing to understand what the business is promising. It’s another to understand why you wake up in the morning to deliver what is promised.

That level of understanding and focus towards a goal could be a driving factor in what makes you stand out from the competition. So what makes a purpose? Everyone wants to make a profit. However, if you can drive home a greater goal for a “better life”, however you wish to put it, it can really make you stand out from the crowd.

2. Consistency

The key to consistency is to avoid talking about things that don’t relate to or enhance your brand. Everything you do needs to have a meaning for your company.

Does it align with your purpose or was it just something random and funny that might confuse your audience? By making sure all of your messaging is cohesive, consistency is something to really hone in on for strategy.

3. Emotion

People aren’t always rational. If two products are the same, for example two different cars, which one are you going to purchase?

It usually comes down to the emotional response and branding that is put into each product. Find a way to connect with your customers on a deeper, more emotional level. Do you give them peace of mind? Make them feel like part of the family? Do you make life easier? Use emotional triggers like these to strengthen your relationship and foster loyalty.

4. Employee Involvement

Consistency is important not only externally but also internally.

Making sure everyone understands how they should communicate with customers as well as between themselves on behalf of the brand. If you called a company and they seemed bubbly and fun online only to face a grumpy caller it wouldn’t reflect well on the brand. So making sure your employee involvement is pivotal to your strategy.
