THE BEST TOOL IN LIGHTROOM THAT BRANDS ARE MISSING OUT ON

Hello everybody. Will here from CreativeTeam and today we’ll be going over just one of the many ways CreativeTeam can help you with your brand when it comes to things like ads, product placements, and things like that. The thing is, with brands and products and ads and what-not, you need to have a focus. Without a focus, you can’t really direct your customer from one place to the other or to your call to action button. Well, there’s an easy way to do that. Especially when you are doing your own set of photography whether it be restaurants, hospitals, things like that. That is the radial mask tool.

What we want to do is take a photos like this. And make it into something like this using the tool. It’s designed to help guide the focus of the audience to a specific point of interest. Whether it be a model’s face or a product itself. Like in this instance, the cereal.

I can choose to create a mask big enough to effect just those items. You can change brightness, hue, saturation, and more just for that area. But the same also works if you wish to affect just the opposite. By clicking Invert, it effects everything outside of the central area of the mask. So you can use it to blur the background, darken it, and so much more.

That’s what makes this tool so powerful. All you do is click this button. Draw your mask and then make the changes using the settings adjustments down on the side from Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, to even Defringe. However; the mask is sharp at this point and you need to make it an easier transition. No one likes sharp lines. By going down to feather, it helps blend the changes together making it look more natural, more nuanced, more beautiful.

Now, if your area of change is more linear, maybe a linear mask is more of your style. It’s the same thing just, linear. And you can even have multiple masks for different effects all at the same time. One for the background. One for the subject. It’s starting to feel like a pizza. Just don’t go too ham on it all. Because if you put too many toppings on it, use too many masks, and make too many adjustments, it begins to look like a supreme mess.

How simple was that? This is one of my favorite tools to use for quick and easy adjustments whether it be for social media posts, or even ads that you can put on Facebook, Twitter, Google and many other places. But, now that you have one more tool under your belt, you can see just a little bit of what Creative Team can do for you in terms of branding whether it be engagement or your brand’s vision as a whole.
