IS APPLE GOING TO HAVE A SHORTAGE? THE CHIP SHORTAGE IS BACK

Welcome back to Creative Team. It’s another wonderful week here. I’m Will. And thank you guys for joining us. If you’re new here, subscribe to the channel. Stay up to date with the latest news, how to’s and you know what, let’s just jump right into it.

For all of you iPhone users out there you may want to sit down for this one because this one is a doozy. Tim Cook warned that Apple products will more than likely have a shortage this year. So for everyone looking to get the latest iPad, Macbooks and more, you may need to have that preorder trigger finger ready.

Cook stated “We have a good handle on our demand – but what everybody else is doing, I don’t know… We will do our best, that’s what I can tell you.” So it is clear that they are prepared for what is about to come. Especially since most of their releases tend to happen later in the year.

This isn’t the first of the problems though. Late last year and early this year, many tech companies ran into the problem of computer chip shortage as well as a semiconductor shortage. Gaming companies Nintendo and Sony saw this fairly early on. This can be traced  all the way back to 2018 with the trade war with China. However, the pandemic sped up the shortage causing a massive demand for which we have little supply for.

This shortage affects more than just Apple though. Samsung has warned that this shortage will even affect televisions, home gadgets, and even vehicle production. They also warned that the most recent weather event in Texas also put plants out of operation, further causing issues. Mixed with the current health standards and not being able to have factories back to 100% slows the process down even more. However, there is hope.

Business teams representing the semiconductor sectors this week unveiled plans to collectively develop the home auto chip sector to stall future shocks. Intel also has invested $3.5 billion dollars into New Mexico’s fab upgrade boosting US chip making. They are also building 2 more Arizona fabs at the cost of $20 billion dollars to help turn the market around.

This boost not only will help Intel, but also other companies as well. They plan to build chips for other companies as well. This will bring us back out of the shortage and boost technology again. It will also produce an estimated  700 new jobs. It may even boost Intel back to the top of the chipmaking process.

What are your thoughts on this whole shortage and are you ready to rush for the limited availability of products that will come from this? Let us know in the comments down below. Thank you guys for watching and I’ll see you guys in the next video!
